Summer at GES! June 22-July 14: GES Summer School for Grades K-5. Contact Glenda Mayhue, Summer School Administrator, if you have questions. July 13-17: Summer Art Camp, 9 am-12 pm. Promotion Criteria The promotion criteria for elementary students has been updated. Important changes: The fourth grade promotion criteria now includes the Gateway Math Reasoning Test. The Fourth grade Social Studies CRCT is no longer a promotion criteria, but students are required to demonstrate proficiency of the Social Studies grade level AKS. Student Handbooks 2008-09 GCPS Student Handbook (4-12) Inclement Weather Plan In the event of inclement weather, decisions on school closings are made before 6 a.m. School closings are announced on the GCPS Website, GCPS TV, and local area news media (TV and Radio). The GCPS website and GCPS TV posts in English, Spanish, Bosnian, Vietnamese, and Korean. If students are in school when weather conditions become difficult during the school day (which would necessitate an early dismissal), the public would be notified through local radio and TV stations. Nutri-Café is the educational, easy and fun way for your students to plan meals and ensure healthy eating habits at school. Get Nutritional Values of each individual items, add items to the tray to build a meal and get the Nutritional Value of the tray. Compare the values with the USDA standards. This is a great tool to teach children how to make healthy choices at school. |
