Inclement Weather Plan

In the event of inclement weather, decisions on school closings are made before 6 a.m. School closings are announced on the GCPS Website, GCPS TV, and local area news media (TV and Radio). The GCPS website and GCPS TV posts in English, Spanish, Bosnian, Vietnamese, and Korean. If students are in school when weather conditions become difficult during the school day (which would necessitate an early dismissal), the public would be notified through local radio and TV stations.

Take a look at our Gwinnett Schools' Virtual Cafeteria - Nutri-Cafe! Nutri-Café is the educational, easy and fun way for your students to plan meals and ensure healthy eating habits at school. Get Nutritional Values of each individual items, add items to the tray to build a meal and get the Nutritional Value of the tray. Compare the values with the USDA standards. This is a great tool to teach children how to make healthy choices at school.
