The Gwinnett County Schools provides all of its students will free and continuous access to all online math tutorials. GES students and parents may use our school's "log in" information to access tutorials at any time. Please see the attached document for specific information on accessing the tutorials.

Math Tutorial Access Information (How to access tutorials)

ATTENDANCE
Parents must send in a signed and written note when their child returns to school for being absent. Parents have a 2 week window to send in a note stating the reason for their child's absences.

EARLY CHECK-OUT
No student check-outs will be allowed after 3:00 pm

CAR POOL IN THE AFTERNOON
Parents MUST have a parent pick up number before coming through the line. Numbers can be obtained, with proper ID, at the Front Office prior to 3:00 pm.

TEMPORARY TRANSPORTATION CHANGES
Emails to the teacher may not be seen in time to make transportation changes. Therefore, if your child is not going home by their normal method of transportation, a note providing the new mode of transportation must be sent with your child on that day.

MESSAGES TO TEACHERS
Because of instructional time with the children, teachers have a 24 hour window to respond to emails and phone messages.

Grayson Elementary Headphones Requirement

All Grayson Elementary students should provide their own headphones for use on student computers in the classrooms and labs. These headphones should be brought to school in a large plastic Ziplock-type bag with your child's first and last name, and homeroom teacher's name, written on the bag in permanent marker. The headphones will be stored in each child's classroom and take to the labs as needed. Thank you.

Kindergarten Gymnastics Unit, Through Oct. 7 | Parent Volunteers Welcome

Our "Gymnastics Unit" involves our students with all kinds of climbing and using our balance skills. Our gymnastics unit is being held through October 7. I welcome as many volunteers that I can get to help out with the Kindergarten classes from 11:00-11:40 am each day. If you can help out, please email Rob Blair (rob_blair@gwinnett.k12.ga.us). Fall Scholastic Book Fair will take place Oct. 3-7!

Student Council Guidelines

Student Council dues this year are $12. There will be buttons for the caps instead of t-shirts this year. In 4th Grade and 5th Grade, we will allow two representatives per class. Meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 8:05 am in the Rock Building.

REVISED 5th Grade T-Shirt Order Form

All 5th graders are invited to submit one or more entries in the 5th grade class t-shirt slogan contest. The winner's slogan will appear on the front of the t-shirt along with artwork that appers on the attached slogan contest entry form. The winner will also receive a free class t-shirt (a refund will be made if the winning student has alredy placed a paid t-shirt order). Please submit your entries to your homeroom teacher or via email to: tcscartz@comcast.net. All entries are due by Fri., Oct. 7.

Grayson Athletic Association ("GAA") is currently conducting open registration for its Winter Basketball Program which runs from November through February. The GAA Recreational Basketball Program strives to develop the physical and social skills of the participants with specific emphasis on teamwork and good sportsmanship. GAA REC Basketball is available to children in K-12th Grade. The cost of registration is $110 for participants in K-1st Grade and $150 for all remaining participants.

GBL Travel Program:
In addition, GAA offers a highly competitive travel basketball program for boys and girls in the 5th-7th Grade. The team is for individuals with advanced basketball skills to compete against other travel programs from Gwinnett County School Clusters. The travel basketball teams are selected by grade (4th graders are eligible to tryout for the 5th Grade team) through a tryout process and requires significant time each week for practice and games. Final tryouts for the 5th Grade Team are this Sunday, 10/2 at 6:00pm at Couch MS.
